Self-publishing

Anyone thinking of self-publishing should be aware of all the issues and costs involved. It can turn into a very expensive enterprise if you don’t approach it with your eyes wide open. A number of books and sites may be helpful. Wild and Woolley has an introduction to self-publishing on its website.

A number of Australian publishers can help you to self-publish your work. Basically this means that you take on the cost of producing the work, whilst using their know-how to create, market and distribute the book. These publishers include Longueville Media, Seaview Press, and Wild and Woolley.

I can only recommend the services of Longueville Media (Publish Me), as I have not worked with any of the other companies. I am happy to mentor you through the self-publishing process, but I often refer clients to others when it comes to distribution and printing, which are beyond the scope of my work and knowledge.
